Nurture A spirit Of Excellence (July 13)

Nurture a spirit of excellence
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward.  It is the Lord Christ you are serving."  Colossians 3:23,24.

God is encouraging us to nurture a spirit of excellence in all that we do - at home, work, ministry, serving and volunteering.  Our work is important to God.  God Himself worked and created the universe: "By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work." Genesis 2:2.

The ability to work and the opportunity to work and feel satisfaction is a blessing from God.  "A man can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in his work. This too, I see, is from the hand of God. Ecclesiastes 2:24.  Be thankful for your work, the ability to work, and work with a spirit of excellence.  A grateful spirit is a spirit of excellence that creates a healthy atmosphere everywhere.

As you work remember:
1)  Work with a spirit of excellence. Do your best, not just to please others, but because your personal value is the spirit of excellence.
2)  Grow in the spirit of excellence.  The spirit of excellence is a growth process that involves continuous learning and determination for greater achievements.
3)  God will reward your spirit of excellence.  Yes, unfortunately we do not always get the praise of men but remember that God will praise you and reward you.
4)  Take care of yourself with excellence.  Value yourself as God values you.  God made you excellent: "You are fearfully and wonderfully made." Psalm 139:14.

Let us work not only for the reward of a paycheck but to nurture a spirit of excellence that is both self-rewarding and God-rewarding. Love excellence - nurture it, work it, live by it, and experience it.

Kingdom Declaration:
God is wonderful in counsel and excellent in guidance as I work with excellence today.
