The Recipe for Peace By Dr Pat Francis

The Recipe for Peace
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."  (Phil. 4: 6,7).

God gives us the recipe for peace:
1) Do not be anxious.  When you operate in anxiety, you give fear a chance to control your heart and then the circumstances.  The root of anxiety is fear and a lack of faith.  It is said that fear is "false evidence appearing real".  Do not believe fear, believe in God.
2) Pray.  When you pray God takes control.  There is nothing too difficult for God.  Remember that prayer is a two-way communication.  Not only will He hear you, He will also speak to you and give you strategies and answers for solutions.  His wisdom, strength, and power are available to you when you ask for it.
3) Be thankful.  Thanksgiving releases faith and positions you in His Atmosphere of Glory for His miraculous provision and protection. God is bigger than any mountain and greater than any trial.  A heart of faith is a heart of thanksgiving that God is on your side, working with you and for you, and He will see you through.

God's response to your prayer and actions of faith is to guard your heart with His peace and to protect your mind with His love.  Peace comes when you know that God is in control.  Rest comes as you abide in Him.  Be at peace.

Kingdom Declaration:
My heart is a chamber of peace as I host the God of peace to live in me.

Read the Bible in One Year: Isaiah 65-66; 1 Tim. 2.
