Be faithful with thanksgiving By Dr Pat Francis

"Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name."  (Psalm 100:4)

We are encouraged to nurture a spirit of thanksgiving as it is both medicine to the body and medicine to the soul.  Paul also encourages us: "Let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful." (Col. 3:15).

I heard of a doctor who would prescribe in certain cases of neuroses what he called his "thank-you cure."  When patient came to him discouraged, pessimistic and full of their own woes, but without any symptoms of a serious ailment, he would give this advice: "For six weeks I want you to say 'Thank you' whenever anyone does you a favor, and to show you mean it emphasize the words with a smile."  He found often that the most miserable patient would come back with a new outlook on life.  People had suddenly become more kind and friendly.

In a world with economic, safety, health and religious insecurities we can be secure in the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. "Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe." (Heb. 12:28). With a thankful heart, lift yourself into the Presence and Atmosphere of Glory and receive God's goodness and love that is waiting for you.  Be faithful with thanksgiving and the world will suddenly become a better place.  Be thankful.

Kingdom Declaration:
I choose to be thankful for what I have rather than focusing on what I do not have.
