Powerful Peace By Dr Pat Francis

"And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (Phil. 4:7).

Peace is powerful and because it is powerful there can be resistance that requires a battle to obtain peace. In King Arthur's story of the First Knight, the king had fallen in love, was about to marry, and was looking forward to enjoying a season of peace and celebration in Camelot.  He was suddenly threatened by an enemy who was seeking a violent overthrow of Camelot.  When the King was asked if he would go to battle, he replied, "Sometimes to have peace you must first fight a war."

Powerful Peace:
1) Has a Prince and King. "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders.  And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." (Is. 9:6). Jesus Christ rules in His Kingdom of Glory and Peace.
2) Is a gift to you. "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." (John 14:27).
3) Is always with you. Jesus ministered and encouraged His disciples after His resurrection, "Again Jesus said, "Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you." (John 20:21).
4) Will guard and protect you.  "And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (Phil. 4:7).

Jesus fought for and won your peace. You have Powerful Peace in and with you.  Guard it and preserve it even as God is guarding and preserving you.

Kingdom Declaration:
I have God's Powerful Peace in me to guard my heart, my mind, and my life.

Read the Bible in One Year: Is. 37-38; Col. 3.
