Roy Hodgson: Marcus Rashford can be a Euro 2016 star in England attack

ROY HODGSON has urged teeenage sensation Marcus Rashford to take his chance at Euro 2016.
The Manchester United youngster has been included in Hodgson’s 23 for the tournament in France.
Hodgson, preparing for tomorrow’s home game with Portugal, sent Danny Drinkwater and Andros Townsend home.
He said: “It was a difficult decision. For a long period of time we have not had a large choice of attackers. Now we have a lot of players to pick from. It was a difficult decision.
“The players (Drinkwater and Townsend) were fantastic and were understanding of the decision I had to make. They made the job as easy as it could possibly be but it was still tough.
“Rashford has had a fantastic end to the season and is a very interesting player. It will be interesting to see in a squad of 23 whether can show those qualities.
“To leave Danny out was tough. But when you look at the two years we have been working as a team and he was a last man in. Same with Andros. Do I take an extra attacker or midfielder? We took an extra attacker.”
Praising Rashford, captain Wayne Rooney said: “The way he took coming into the Manchester United team and the way he has performed has been incredible. He showed what he can do in his first game for England, within a few minutes.
“What is pleasing is his attitude. That has shown at the hotel and on the training pitch. He could be a real positive. It is great for the team and the squad as we have options with strikers and midfield.
“I am injury free. A lot of the tournaments I have had little niggles so I am looking forward to it.”
Rooney also admitted his joy at Jose Mourinho being named United boss, adding: “It is exciting. He is one of the best managers in the world.
“He knows the Premier League very well and for myself and the other United players, it is an exciting time.”
