Create a greater you

"Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water." (Heb.10:22).

As a child, we were trained not to show our feelings or we could be deemed as immature or it can be judged as a sign of weakness. We become unprofessionally trained actors trying to please others and living in the fear of people. We put on our masks every day and we can get to the point of not being sincere with ourselves or with God.

Peggy Noonan, in her book Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness, noted that appearances can be deceiving. "People never look like what they are," she wrote.  Of one unscrupulous businessman, she commented that if we could see him, as he really is, "He'd be sitting at the dinner party with a dagger in his teeth. To all outward appearances he was an upstanding citizen, yet he was a hypocrite to the core."

Be straightforward with God in full assurance that He loves you just the way you really are. He died for your weaknesses and in Him you will find the strength to be yourself and love yourself so that you can truly begin to love others.  As you assess yourself, receive from Jesus forgiveness for your imperfections. Purpose change. Change the attitudes that need changing, and create the new you with full assurance of God's love and grace each step of the way.
