The LORD is Peace

"But the Lord said to him, "Peace!  Do not be afraid.  You are not going to die. So Gideon built an altar to the Lord there and called it The Lord is Peace."  (Judges 6:23,24).

Gideon was a man who was very discouraged and fighting for survival. He and his family had suffered incredible losses at the hand of oppressive ravaging warriors called the Midianites. He was frustrated, angry and confused about God, the enemy, and himself. God appeared to him at the height of his anger and lovingly gave him a way out of his frustrations.

God gave him:
1) Hope. "You are not going to die."  He received hope for a bright future to fight for more than just survival. Hope creates faith and faith births miracles.
2) Strength. God revitalized his soul with a motivating declaration, "The LORD is with you, mighty warrior." (Judges 6:12). God believed in Gideon, Gideon believed in God, and he became a mighty warrior.
3) Peace. By faith declared and claimed God as his Peace.  The powerful Hebrew word for peace is 'Shalom' and means salvation, health, success, and prosperity.Gideon would prosper by God's peace.
4) Victory. Gideon became what was declared over him - a mighty warrior and savior of Israel. "The Israelites said to Gideon, "Rule over us - you, your son and your grandson - because you have saved us out of the hand of Midian." (Judges 8:22).

Today, declare, "The LORD is my Peace" and become a mighty warrior for great victories from Jesus, our Prince of Peace.

Kingdom Declaration:
Jesus is my Peace and through Him I am a mighty warrior for victories and success.
