"About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them." (Acts 16:25).
Paul and Silas were imprisoned unjustly because they delivered a girl who was demonized and tormented. The business men and political leaders were in cahoots in their illegal operations and plotted to destroy them because with this girl set free, they were missing their slave and their business would suffer. Paul and Silas were severely beaten, thrown in prison, and shackles placed on their feet.
While in prison, however, they sang, praised God, and created the atmosphere for manifested glory in the prison, "Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everybody's chains came loose." (Acts 16:26). Their attitude of praise and reaction of faith even in their unjust and cruel circumstance spoke volumes to the jailers and other prisoners who were with them. They were not only professing Christians but they were also practicing Christians.
The power of "choice" is a powerful gift that we can choose to activate as we create and rule our world. Let us choose not to be ruled by people or circumstances but by the grace and power of the Lord Jesus Christ. Wherever we are God is. Whatever we go through, God remains in control. Praise God and create an atmosphere of His Glory for divine intervention and powerful miracles.
