"They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings - and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers." (Rev. 17:14).
From the moment Jesus was born, kings and rulers of the earth started a war against him. King Herod heard that there was a King born in Bethlehem and he ordered a group of wise men to bring him information to kill baby Jesus. The wise men, however, when they found Jesus with Mary and Joseph, worshipped Him as their King and blessed Him with gifts of gold, incense and myrrh.
This infuriated King Herod. "When Herod realized that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was furious, and he gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had learned from the Magi. Then what was said through the prophet Jeremiah was fulfilled." (Matt. 2:16).
The plot continues as His enemy still inspires mankind with deception, false gods, and humanism in open defiance against the true and living God and His Word. Jesus, however, remains the reason for the Christmas season and lives forever in an atmosphere of adoration, worship, honor, glory, and praise from angels and believers. We join in the song of the angels as they sing: "Blessing and honor and glory and power be to Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, forever and ever!" (Rev. 5:13, NKJV).
