"But the angel said to them, 'Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord." (Luke 2:10,11).
Today after two thousand years we still celebrate the birth of Jesus, our Savior King. We rejoice in the message of the angel. The prophecy that was written is now our reality: "For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder; and His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and the Prince of Peace." (Is. 9:6).
Today our hearts are filled with joy in spite of circumstances, environment and what we may face tomorrow. The message rings in our hearts:
1) Do not be afraid for with God nothing is impossible. This is a message of hope and faith and we choose to believe that our Savior King is greater than all our trials.
2) We celebrate this news that is for all the people. God loves all the people of the world. In His Kingdom we have a great chance to receive His goodness, mercy, love and peace without measure.
3) We celebrate Jesus Christ as our Savior, Lord and King. As our Savior we have His forgiveness. As our Lord, He is above all other authorities in our life. As our King, we live in His Kingdom with our guaranteed provision, protection and peace.
Today, we celebrate Jesus with thanksgiving and joy. May the spirit of Christmas bring you peace, the joy of Christmas bring you hope, and the warmth of Christmas grant you love.
