Humility is the pathway to greatness

"But let him who boasts, boast in the Lord. For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends." 2 Cor. 10:17,18.

 

Humility is the pathway to greatness. Pride is like cancer of the soul that never stops until it completely destroys a person's respect for others, and reverence towards God. Where there is pride there is no dependence on God or a true perspective about God. John Ruskin said, "I believe the first test of a truly great man is his humility."

 

The world's philosophy is sometimes contradictory to God's wisdom. The world says, 'Exalt yourself', God says, 'Humble yourself.' The world says, 'Step on others', God says, 'Prefer one another'. The world says, 'Hate your enemies', God says, 'Love your enemies'. The world says, 'Be ruthless', God says, 'A man reaps what he sows.' If you follow the way of the world, you will come to a dead end. If you follow the way of God, you will find truth on the path of eternal life.

 

"Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up." James 4:10. When God lifts you up, you know for sure that it will not be a 'set up'. The path of humility is true security as God gives more and more grace to His humble servants.

 

Kingdom Declaration:

Jesus humbled Himself to lift me up. I humble myself to lift up others.
