Do Not Be Afraid To Ask

"There, by the Ahava Canal, I proclaimed a fast, so that we might humble ourselves before our God and ask him for a safe journey for us, and our children, with all our possessions. I was ashamed to ask the king for soldiers and horsemen to protect us from enemies on the road, because we had told the king, "The gracious hand of our God is on everyone who looks to him, but his great anger is against all who forsake him." So we fasted and petitioned our God about this, and he answered our prayer." Ezra 8:21-23.

Sometimes when we read about the great people in the Bible we forget that they too were human. Here we see a prophet and priest too ashamed to ask for human help. I encourage you today that whenever you feel awkward about your circumstances remember that God is waiting to help you when you ask. There is nothing too great or small to ask God for. God is not ashamed of you.

When Jesus was on the cross, the disciples left Him in shame. They had boasted in the power of their King and now He was hanging on a cross. But circumstances are not final until God says so. The cross was the place of shame but the empty tomb became the place of victory. God will make you triumph in His Name.

Ezra, in his shame did not forget to pray. By faith, he asked God for a safe journey for his team and his family and he got it. He asked for protection for his possessions and he got it. He asked for the favor and blessings of God and he got it. In the midst of a shameful circumstance, pray. God is never ashamed and He is not ashamed of you. He is ready to answer you when you pray.

Kingdom Declaration:
God's mercies are new every morning. When I ask, I will receive what I believe for.
