NBCC is currently seeking a dynamic and competent individual for the position of Community College Instructor . Our College is committed to transforming lives and communities. Reporting to the Department Head, as a member of the faculty team, you are responsible for ensuring planning and preparing instructional materials and resources; establishing and managing a positive learning environment; instructing and evaluating students; building and sustaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, community partners, and stakeholders; as well as other related duties.
Specific instructional areas and courses within the program may include, but are not limited to: power systems, thermodynamics, rotating electrical machines, electro-technology, mathematics, and other related subjects. The successful incumbent will be willing and able to integrate technology and active student learning techniques into teaching practices. You will also plan, evaluate and monitor student practicum placements.
Required qualifications for this opportunity include a degree in Electrical Engineering and certification as a P.Eng and three years of recent electrical engineering experience in an industrial setting; or a 3 rd class Power Engineering license (or license eligible in the Province of NB) with a CET or P.Tech designation and five years of recent industry experience. Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes.
A comprehensive knowledge of MS Office Suite is required. Written and spoken competence in English is required.
Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.
NBCC offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that includes a competitive salary for this position ranging from $1,692 to $2,685 bi-weekly. Successful candidates may be eligible for a higher maximum step, up to $2,932 bi-weekly, based on their level of post-secondary education. This position is a unionized position where the terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the New Brunswick Union of Public and Private Employees collective agreement (Education, Instructional Group) for the College.
