God loves children
"When Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd coming toward him, he said to Philip, "Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?" He asked this only to test him, for he already had in mind what he was going to do." John 6:5,6.
Jesus was teaching in a crusade with over 5000 people. After preaching for many hours, He was aware that the families were hungry. Being practical, He wanted to provide food for the people. Jesus was watching a boy sitting there for hours, excited to be close to Him and His disciples, while carefully guarding his lunch given to him by his mother. Jesus asked the disciples "where will we find the food?" The disciples reported that they did not have enough money to buy food for 5,000 people. Jesus, however, waited for another report.
One disciple eventually saw the seed. "Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?" "Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted. He did the same with the fish." John 6:9,11. A boy's lunch was used in a miracle of multiplication to feed everyone and with leftovers.
As the Master Teacher, Jesus used the opportunity to teach His disciples:
1) Allow children to become source of miracles and to experience the miraculous.
2) Nothing is impossible with God.
3) When you don't have enough for your need, look for the seed.
4) God can and will provide.
Children are important now. They have value now. Let us be aware of their goodness and greatness now. Let us validate and activate them now for greater significance. Jesus loves children.
Kingdom Declaration:
Everyone is significant and have value regardless of their age.
