Don't Give Up
"The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." Deuteronomy 31:8.
Discouragement is a great weapon of destruction to dreams. When a project fails, that does not make YOU a failure - 'It' failed but YOU can try again. Ultimate failure is when a person gives up on their dream because of challenges, setbacks, and defeat along the way.
Dr. Samuel Langley was a brilliant scientist who wrote volumes on airplane and flight. He tried to fly his first plane, it crashed, and the press labeled it "a ridiculous fiasco." Two months later he tried again, the plane plunged upside-down into a river, and the pilot almost drowned. The New York Times labeled it "Langley's Folly," and told him to give it up. He did!
Nine days later Orville and Wilbur Wright, two bicycle mechanics, with no formal education and no funds, flew their plane. They refuse to give up after many failures and much ridicule. Sadly, the world today knows of the Wright brothers who were credited with building the world's first successful airplane and making the first controlled, powered, and sustained heavier-than-air human flight. Not many people know about Langley.
It is not how you start but how you finished. Your finish is your choice. Faith in God and faith in yourself will determine the outcome of your perseverance. "If at first you don't succeed, try, and try again." Don't give up; don't give in to the enemy's plot of discouragement; don't give over your dream to the list of "if only". Try again.
Kingdom Declaration:
God is with me as my Source of encouragement and strength. I will not give up.
