"For this reason, I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name." (Eph. 3:14-15).
God placed a great deal of emphasis on His relationship with us as our Heavenly Father. Jesus told us to pray to God as Father. "This, then, is how you should pray: "'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name". There is a difference between asking a stranger or a high-profile person for something versus asking a loving father who cares deeply for you.
When you pray to God as Father, you are in a rich family with great possibilities for provision, protection and preservation. As a child of Father God, you have access to His family in heaven and earth. You are a part of a great and powerful family - the family of God.
God's family and servants includes:
1) A host of angels. "You have come to Mount Zion, to the heavenly Jerusalem, the city of the living God. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly." (Heb. 12:22). They will protect you.
2) A family of believers who are already in heaven. God describes His family of believers who are already in heaven as "A great cloud of witnesses..." (Heb. 12:1). They made it to heaven in spite of all the attacks from the devil and his demons. Those witnesses like Abraham, Moses, David, Ruth, Mary, Peter, Paul are all cheering for you.
3) A family of believers on earth. "Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers." (Gal. 6:10). We are praying for you.
With God as your Heavenly Father you have His everlasting love; His powerful protection; access to His unlimited provision; and His guaranteed presence always. You are loved, protected, and celebrated.
