God is Holy

"Great is the LORD in Zion; he is exalted over all the nations. Let them praise your great and awesome name - He is holy." Ps. 99:2,3.

God is Holy.  When we examine ourselves in the light of God we are aware of our imperfections, areas of unrighteousness, and weaknesses.  Jesus Christ in His holiness embraced our sinfulness.  "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus." Rom. 3:23,24.

We thank God for the cross and the purpose of its cruelty and shame:  Jesus died for us, took our sins and shame and made us free to embrace the holiness of God.   Leonard Ravenhill, a British evangelist said, "The greatest miracle God can do today is take an unholy man out of an unholy world, make that man holy, then put him back into that unholy world and keep him holy in it."

When we come before our Holy God in prayer we are covered with the Righteousness of Jesus Christ, His Armor, and His Glory.  Jesus Christ is the King of Glory who covers us and presents us before our Holy Father as the righteousness of God.  "God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." 2 Cor. 5:21. Because of this we can come boldly before His throne of grace in prayer for daily mercy, forgiveness, compassion, and His loving kindness.

The great strength of parenting is to daily nurture, help, forgive, and love imperfect, growing, and challenging children.  God's love towards us is even more, and will help you to grow in maturity, strength, wisdom, and righteousness.  Let us be thankful for our Holy God's compassion as He sees us through mercy eyes and loves us through His Son's finished work on the cross.

Kingdom Declaration:
God is holy and I live daily in the righteousness of Jesus Christ my Savior.
