Humility is Powerful

"The Ninevites believed God.  They declared a fast, and all of them, from the greatest to the least put on sackcloth.  When God saw what they did and how they turned from their evil ways he had compassion and did not bring upon them the destruction he had threatened." Jonah 3:5,10

God is a God of mercy and He looks for opportunities to bless us by forgiving and removing the reproach of our sins.  The King of Nineveh was a famous but evil King and God sent His prophet Jonah to pronounce judgment and destruction on him.  The King's heart, however, was moved with humility to repent to God for all his evil towards the people of his kingdom. God's heart was move with compassion and preserved him.  It is never too late to ask God for mercy.

We read the story of General Grant who had just professed faith in Christ. The minister who spoke to him ventured to say, "'God's Kingdom has gained a great acquisition in your conversion, General.'  General Grant replied, 'God does not need great men, but great men need God.'"

Humility is the door to honor from men and from God.  Humility is powerful: it cures broken relationships; it provides another chance for missed opportunities; it opens doors to kings and people of influence; it keeps our hearts in the right place for continual divine mercy and grace. Humility is power. As you create and rule your world, intentionally choose to be humble and you will grow in favor with God and people. "And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men." Luke 2:52.

Kingdom Declaration:
I will intentionally choose to be humble to grow like Jesus in favor with God and people.
