Love one another By Dr Pat Francis

Love one another
"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."  (Romans 5:8).

We usually love someone because of the good we see in them, the kindness they show, and the love they prove.  But God did the opposite.  He sees our faults, our weaknesses, our hopelessness at being perfect, our vulnerability at making mistakes and yet He loves us.  Our selfishness and weaknesses instead of turning Him off rather turns Him on to His purpose - Jesus died for sinners.

A young missionary was asked by a Hindu why he and his wife had come to India and he replied: "We are here because Christ-like character is the highest that we know, because Christ gives men a free, full life, and most important of all He gives them, God.  And we do not know of anyone else who does these things, except Christ."

Yes, Christ loves us and now He asks us to love one another in spite of known weaknesses.  "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.  By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." (Titus 3:4,5). This command can be a challenge in different levels of relationships but as we purpose in our hearts to obey, God's grace will be released so that His love can flow in and through us.  Yes, Jesus loves you.

Kingdom Declaration:
I am loved by God and by His grace I have the power to love others with His love.
