Jesus Christ, Savior and King

Jesus Christ, Savior and King
“This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about; His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit.” (Matt. 1:18). Jesus was born of a virgin. When the Angel appeared to Mary with the wonderful news that she was chosen to be the mother of Jesus, Savior of the world, she was troubled. She had many questions and disturbing thoughts. "How will this be," Mary asked the Angel, "since I am a virgin?" The Angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the Holy One to be born will be called the Son of God.” (Luke 1:34-35). Yes, her Son was born of God and therefore fully divine and born of Mary and therefore fully human. As a man He was hungry, tired and tempted. As a man He overcame all the temptations of evil and submitted Himself to the cross to be crucified. He rose again and as God He has the power and authority to forgive all the sins of the world. As a loving Savior we can tell Jesus of our needs, trials, pain and temptation. As a man He was tempted, suffered and triumphed. He can empathize with our humanity and understands us with compassion. He is our Helper, Counselor, Comforter and our Peace. He is our Savior and King. Today remember the words of the Angel to Mary: “For nothing is impossible with God." (Luke 1:37). Jesus is our Savior to save us always, and our King to protect and provide for us always. Kingdom Dynamics: I am confident in my present and future security in Jesus Christ my Savior and King. Read the Bible in One Year: Nahum 1-3; Revelation 14. @Dr Pat Francis
