God is our Comfort

God, "who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God." (2 Cor. 1:4).

There is a cycle that goes from experiencing troubles, to receiving comfort to comforting others. There are things learnt in the hard times that cannot be learnt in good times. There are things learnt from experience that cannot be learnt by reading a book. With troubles comes experience and grace to comfort others.

From negative experiences we:
1) Gain understanding. What happened, that we could have done better, and how to ensure that it will not happen again. Understanding will position you for greater wisdom for greater prosperity.
2) Gain wisdom. There is a saying that says, "Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me." The Bible exalts wisdom, "Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom." (Prov. 4:7). Wisdom is to do the right thing at the right time, at the right place, with the right motives and with the right people. Pat Francis.
3) Can help others. Your experience makes you wiser to help others and more powerful to create solutions. The pain you overcome makes you compassionate to comfort others. David wrote his greatest psalms after his failure and during his times of sufferings. Now when we read the psalms we are also comforted and encouraged.

Find someone to comfort today and use your power and wisdom to help them.

Kingdom Declaration:
