Honor the children

"I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of him.  So now I give him to the LORD.  For his whole life he will be given over to the LORD." And he worshiped the LORD there." 1 Samuel 1:27-28

Every child is a gift from God. There is no "unwanted child". The Bible's perception on children is clearly stated: "Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from him." Psalm 127:3. Unfortunately, not all children are born into a loving and caring home but it is good for us to know that all children are important to God and with a purpose waiting to be discovered.

Your children are precious to God and the greatest gift and blessing you can give them is relationship with God in the family of God. God gave your children life through you for them to receive eternal life through Him.

For eternal blessing on your children:
1) Pray for them. You cannot be with your children for 24 hours every day for life - but God can.  As you pray, engage God in the parenting of your child.  God wants to care for your child more than you can.
2) Honor them. God's encouragement: "See that you do not look down on one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven."  Matthew 18:10. When children are honored, they become honorable.
3) Bless them with God.  Teach them to pray and involve God in every area of their life. With an awareness of God in them and with them they will have greater resistance to all the evil traps that children face today in schools, relationships, and the complications of life.  "All your sons and daughters will be taught by the LORD, and great will be your children's peace." Isaiah 54:13.
4) Speak blessing over them regularly: "And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them." Mark 10:16.

As you pray, honor and bless your children remember that God is praying for you, honoring you, and blessing you as His son or daughter.

Kingdom Declaration:
I declare the blessing, honor, and glory of God upon my children.
