Praying like Jesus(January 4)

 Praying like Jesus
"One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, "Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples." Luke 11:1.

As we begin a New Year of purpose and pursuit of God's manifested glory in and through us, let us be coached by Jesus on how to pray intentionally and strategically to please our Heavenly Father, and to rule in both the natural and spiritual worlds.

Prayer includes:
1) Worship. Exalting God for who He is and acknowledging His awesome glory as you glory in His presence. It is one thing to be in the presence of a great and mighty man or woman but it is the ultimate privilege to be in the presence of the King of kings and LORD of lords, LORD God Almighty.
2) Communion. Thanking, sharing, listening, learning, crying, venting, asking and loving in the presence of God. God is real and you can be real with Him. After all is said and heard, you will receive His love and affirmation that He is greater than all your problems, and His mercy and love are new for you every day. Fellowshipping with God will strengthen your relationship with Him for the release of His glory in and through you. "The people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits." Daniel 11:32, (NKJV).
3) Praying for others. God loves your family, friends, and peers. God loves the world. When you pray for others, you give God the opportunity to bless them because you asked.

A.J. Gordon says: "You can do more than pray after you have prayed; but you can never do more than pray until you have prayed." As we believe for God's manifested Glory in our lives, family and all that is important to us, we will learn from Jesus how to pray for the next few days as we study, 'Praying like Jesus'.

Kingdom Declaration:
I thank God for the privilege of access to His awesome presence anytime and anywhere.
