Hallowed be your Name
"In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be your name." Matthew 6:9.
The word 'Hallowed' means to regard as holy, or to worship. With the intention to be like Jesus to represent Him in our world, there are seven CHAYIL Pillars (worship, wisdom, power, honor, favor, wealth, and influence) describing our focused values in life. Our Heavenly Father was intentional about the growth of His Son, "And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men." Luke 2:52. Worship is our first CHAYIL Pillar as worshipping Jesus is our first priority in life taught by Jesus to be the first aspect of our prayer.
Worship is:
1) Focus. You turn your thoughts from yourself, problems, needs, and others and in the realm of the spirit, you focus on God. You imagine God in heaven seated on His throne, surrounded by His holy angels in an atmosphere of worship and adoration. You join in the worship of heaven with your own praise and declarations of the awesomeness of God. In that moment, God hears your voice and your heart as if you are the only one in His presence. You are focused on God and He is focused on you.
2) Awareness. Acknowledge your omnipresent God, who is not only in heaven but also in your heart. Be aware of Christ in you, your hope of glory. Your heart is His secret place and He is in the secret place of your heart.
3) Renewal. In God's presence, your mind will be renewed to think right and speak right for right actions. "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will." Romans 12:2. In worship, God will cleanse your thoughts, heal your mind and empower your heart for greater achievements.
4) Connection. As you worship in God's presence, your heart becomes connected to your Source of Glory and for you to receive His glory. Jesus worshipped, "And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began." John 17:5. Jesus received fresh glory from His Father.
Worship can also be described as reverence, adoration, devotion, honor, exaltation, and respect towards God. God seeks for worship, "Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks." John 4:23. If God is seeking for worship, our response in love is to satisfy His desire, so that He can satisfy ours.
Kingdom Declaration:
I will worship the LORD in the beauty of His Holiness and ascribe to Him the glory due His Name.
