The greatest act of love(December 22)

The greatest act of love
"For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.  For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him."  John 3:16,17.
For four hundred years God was silent towards His people.  Israel had rebelled for many years and the many warnings from prophets were disregarded so God closed off communication with His people.  They continued to observe religious traditions but were not open to revelation from the God they professed to serve.

Heaven was silent but God's plan for redemption of the world remained in His heart.  The promise of a Redeemer and Messiah that was given from as early as in the Garden of Eden would be fulfilled.  The people longed for a deliverer like Moses, Joshua or David.  But this time God would not send them temporary deliverance; this time their deliverer would not be destroyed by death; this time their deliverer would not be a sinner like the people; this time God would not send just a person to deliver His people but God would send His Son, Jesus, to save the world.

God is a God of Justice, sin must be punished and fallen mankind must be redeemed.  Jesus took upon Himself the sins of the world, the sickness of the world, and the shame of the world.  Jesus satisfied justice and paid the price for our sins by dying on the cross in our place.  This is the greatest act of love.  God loves you.  God loves the world.  Our God is a God of hope, love, and peace.  His love for you remains forever.

Kingdom Dynamics:
I thank God for His great gift and His great love for me.
