@Imcredible Tales Lesson 2
Our next woman, I am really excited to learn about her. Let’s make it a date next Tuesday, 12PM NDT.
In the meantime stay safe, happy and healthy. ❤️
Gomer
Not that she is not known, but she is rarely mentioned when among women who play sacrosanct roles. Her life simply depicts the life of us born again Christians today, yet we do not like to associate with her. She lived the life many of us are living today. The name Gomer may not resonate with a lot of people however, people who know this woman simply think of it as rough, strange and many times implausible – the harlot that married a prophet.
The name Gomer is a biblical Hebrew name which means COMPLETE
Gomer a woman clothed with strength and dignity but chose to be continually stripped off of her pride, strength and dignity because of the “cares” (for lack of better word) of this world. You know the saying “like mother, like daughter? Right! Gomer, the daughter of Diblaim, Diblaim also was a Whore. I am sorry I had to break that to you.
Gomer was married to one of the greatest prophets of that time, He pronounced prophecies in the reign of the king Uzziah, Hezekiah to mention a few. This great man although described as a minor prophet was named Hosea. Just like we all believe we hear from God, God instructed that the prophet marries Gomer. I know you are still baffled by the story and likely have a lot of unanswered questions. Well, me too, I do not have answers but one thing I focus on is the sovereignty and perfection of God. Let’s take a break and focus on this unusual woman.
Take a cup of coffee, sip gradually and stay woke.
I only planned to introduce you to the woman today. Where she has been and how she sailed her voyage to the final destination (good or bad) will be discussed on Thursday if the Lord tarries.
Just in case He does not, the book of Hosea with a cup of coffee makes the day go by and causes a brokenness in Spirit. Read while looking forward to Thursday post at 12PM NDT.
In the meantime, stay safe, happy and healthy. ❤️
This is the day the Lord God has made. Thank you for joining. This is coming to you a little earlier than planned.
I will like to say a big Thank you to everyone who has been part of this work. Thank you for playing your part. We are impressed by the grace of God upon your life. Thank God for you. Please keep it up and keeping learning and let us keep discovering dimensions. Remember the psalmist said, deep calls unto the deep.
Thank you again.
I am not sure I shared the reason behind this series with you. Let me share some with you. Aside from knowing these women by names and their roles, we are meant to mirror our lives in theirs and make necessary adjustments by learning from their failures and successes.
A friend exclaimed, “Kai, Israel is spoilt” I said “aren’t we all? Gomer the beloved, where has she been? The bible reported her to have always been in prostitution and in fact we can deduce that since her mother had the same profession, it is possible she doesn’t know her father and was nurtured with the earnings made from whoredom. At some point, she had to be responsible for her self. The people of Yoruba land said “alagemo ti bimo e na, ai mo jo ku sowo e”, which literally means “you are on your own.”
“Go look for a harlot and marry” was the instruction given to Gomer’s hubby, she agreed to marry the prophet, she now has a sane home of her own free from perversion. The bible again said she fled and went back into prostitution – ch2. This justifies my point, “Now can be boring”. She could not bring herself to the new life, I mean she liked the idea, in today’s scene, she would be trending on social media, but did not want to work for it.
She had a father and husband - Hosea, she had a new name – mother, she had children – whose names were enough as a whole sermon. But she did not want one man, all her life? nah, its boring. Honestly, it is relatable. For 15 shekels of silver, Gomer’s hubby and father to her children went again sought for her and her brought her home. Ch. 3.
Are we not all like Gomer? Don’t we like that we are a chosen generation, a Holy nation, royal priesthood, … thank you for completing it. Don’t we like that we are joint heirs to the Christ, don’t we love that we are all sons by adoption? Howbeit, after we came to Christ but we did not fully renounce the devil and his works. The devil is powerful no doubt but the authority he has is what you have allowed.
I dare you to take that authority back today. Humbly go to God, resist the devil and he will flee. Quit promise and fail. Quit I almost over came. Jesus Christ paid more than 15 shekels of Silver to have you.
Let me ask, do you think at some point Gomer’s husband did not know she would leave? Christ knows where you at, He sees you and can not wait to embrace you. Run to Him. He awaits. While you like the idea of perfection, why don’t you attempt it daily.
Thank you again for following to this point. You are the reason we are encouraged. May you bask in more grace to be able to overcome and weight on every side. Amen
Remember, he that knows what is right and does not do it SINS. BE COURAGEOUS MY FRIEND.
Next Tuesday is another day to find out and mirror our lives.
Thank you, friends, why don’t you stay safe, happy and healthy. See you ❤️
