Lead us not into temptation(Jan 11)

Lead us not into temptation
"And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one." Matthew 6:13.

The Bible encourages us to deal with our humanity with wisdom and reality. We will never be perfect and come to a stage in life where we cannot be tempted.  "Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.  No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it." 1 Corinthians 10:12-13.

It is therefore good for us to create a support and accountability structure in our life for preservation in times of weakness, temptation, discouragement, or distress.  We see four young Hebrew boys (Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego) who were living as slaves in Babylon, with the constant intimidation and peer pressure to conform to their religious and cultural practises. To preserve themselves they formed a CHAYIL Power Group of four, to intentionally share, pray, encourage and be accountable to each other.

A CHAYIL Power Group, is a group of people who intentionally come together to engage the power of God to grow like Jesus for His manifested Glory in and through them. The benefits of being in a CHAYIL Power Group is:
1)   Intercession and prayer of agreement.
2)   Collective wisdom from the group with ideas, peer coaching, and protection.
3)   Your significance is discovered, validated and celebrated.
4)    Accountability.
5)   Growth in the manifested glory of Jesus in worship, wisdom, power, honor, favor, wealth and influence.
6)   Support from a committed group.
7)   Fellowship.

The Bible states, "Where there is no counsel, the people fall; But in the multitude of counselors there is safety." (Proverb 11:14).  Jesus had a CHAYIL Power Group of four (Jesus, Peter, James, and John).  In His darkest hour of temptation, He needed the support of His Father, and also human support.  He took Peter, James and John with Him to a place of prayer and said to them, "My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death, stay here and keep watch." (Mark 14:34).  While He prayed His support group watched for His accusers.  Create your world with readiness for times of temptation.  God will deliver you as your support group help to preserve you.

Kingdom Declaration:
I thank Jesus for His "Keeping Power" and gift of my CHAYIL Power Group and powerful intercessors.
